Healthy vs: Unhealthy Behavior
67One Step At A Time - Change happens from within.
One step at a time!
Ama is a term used for impurities. We all experience ama blockages within our body's from time to time. Some of us, never recognize the toxicity that builds from negative thoughts, behaviors, conditioning. We unconsciously allow ourselves to eat impurities, tolerate negative behaviors from others, becoming filled with ama, not only our own, but that of others. In order to move into the fluidity of abundance of happiness and health, we must begin with the recognition or witnessing, articulation and expression, and then consciously choose healthy choices, one step at a time. One baby step at a time, we re-wire and change.
Practicing healthy behavior is reestablished with regular mapping of your desires. Making a list of intentions and desires on a regular basis changes the rewiring of old conditioned patterns of thinking, acting, of being. Feeling miserable is a choice, and we usually feel miserable when we are not honest with ourselves. How do we know when we are not honest with ourselves, well, all you have to do is listen to the quiet stillness within your body. Notice if you have any feelings of heaviness around the heart, stomach, or if you have an inability to breathe fully into your body. Ask yourself if you are covering up the symptoms of unhappiness, or unhealthy behavior with addictive actions, reactions, withdrawal. There are many things you can do to change your past conditioning, including diet change, exercise, journaling, art. I advise you not to be reactive, nor cover the symptoms with substances, but to reflect on those feelings of discomfort within your body or mind. I believe through the witnessing of these blockages, noticing how you feel, you will begin to take those steps to move into a more healthy, happy person. Allow yourself to feel, experiencing the full range of e-motions.
I believe some stress is good for you, it can propel you into action, so begin by recognizing the sensations within your body. Are you able to move forward in the appropriate manner, at the appropriate time. If you keep repeating the same unhealthy behavior, it is likely that you are not "in touch" with your deepest desires. A block may exist within you and with regular mapping and meditation, you are better able to access your desires more easily. Sure, your desires will change from day to day, week to week, year to year. But these desires are your map to the uncertainty, the unknown, the unbounded spirit that wishes to be set free. Remember how free you felt while swinging on a swing, moving fluidly upward, then predictably back again, in harmony, in rhythm with the nature of intention and desire. This is the state of being that I call bliss, just the memory of this feeling bring the corners of my mouth upward with feelings of happiness, connectivity to spirit, a lightness in my heart. Absent are the feelings of discomfort, physical, emotional, phycological. All feelings of despair, frustration, loneliness and grief are a sign of an unwell human being. We can become healthy again, one step at a time.
You cannot force your behavior to change or make evolutionary choices without tapping into your needs, wants, desires, or dreams. Be honest with yourself, take responsibility for your feelings, accept your feelings, for they are yours. A healthy lifestyle is balanced with life enhancing attitudes, dignity, integrity and respect for self and each other. The following pointers will increase your potential to align yourself to a healthier life style.
-Be pleasant, and tolerant towards everyone.
-Act after due reflections, not impulse.
-Refrain from anger, criticism, do not point others weaknesses out for their own good.
-Take time to play, humor, and relax.
-Wake up with the sun, watch the sunset.
-Eat well, eat pure, natural and nutritious foods.
-Be generous, in thought, words and intentions.
By listening the your body's signals you will be able to move forward toward a healthier life style, one step at a time. Remember to focus on the journey, not the destination.
